What Happens & What to Expect – Divorce Process

When you are involved divorce proceedings, there are emotional challenges that can make the process seem unending and overwhelming. You may have to deal with child custody and arranging joint parenting. You may have to deal with child support or alimony. Face dealing with property and possessions accumilated over the marriage. You will need an experienced attorney to guide you through the process. That’s where I can help.

Your Divorce & My Practice

I will assist you at any stage of a divorce, whether you are just considering filing and need advice about your options or you are already a party in a divorce proceeding. I can also help you take the appropriate steps to request modification of a final divorce decree.

Matters Handled

  1. Setting up Child custody and visitation: Remember the Cildren come first! I will help you put together a plan that is in the best interests of your children and protects your rights as a parent.
  2. Getting Child support: I will review all proposed child support orders for compliance with New Jersey guidelines, and I will make sure that all appropriate income is included in the calculation.
  3. Setting up Alimony or spousal support: I will help you determine whether an award of alimony is likely and, if so, how much will be paid and for how long.
  4. The division of marital debts and assets: I will help you equitably distribute marital property, including real and personal property, financial accounts, retirement plans, and business interests.
